A Special Note from Kelly

I know it's been slow and many of you are frustrated, wondering if you've made a poor choice by getting your Notary Commission and deciding to become a Loan Signing Agent.  I know of several LSA's that have had to return to work and I keep reading about how "others" that accept low-ball fees are "ruining it" for those of you who are trying to make it in our business. 

The mortgage situation, my friends, is beyond your control and so is the business model that others follow.  Instead of worrying about "them" and expending negative energy, stay positively focused on your goals.  Remember:  "What you think about is what you bring about".  If you worry about a lack of money or calls, that's exactly what you will bring to yourself. 

While you're waiting for things to come back around, be proactive on your behalf.  Take advantage of the down-time and learn all you can about your state's notary laws -- practice your duties by performing  "public notary work" and make money too! Drop off your business cards and travel to those who need your services -- doctors, lawyers, banks, hospitals, convalescent homes. Anyone in our line of work should diversify by augmenting their income with other occupations, some that Notaries are typically involved in.  A few examples include Wedding Officiate,  Field Agent, Mystery Shopper, Merchandiser, Process Server or work in the REO arena.  There are open positions at Auctions and in the field,  found by spending a little time on-line conducting simple Google searches and by making a few phone calls or personal visits.

I'm also sure that many of you are passively involved or inactive in some type of down-line sales product.  Why not connect with your up-line and become active and enthusiastic again in your part-time business by getting busy with demos and sales calls, and building your own down-line (I like to call it my Success-Line!). No kidding,  the skills I've learned from selling Lipstick have not only brought me abundance, but those skills have also helped me tremendously in the marketing of my other businesses.  I have a very Successful Coach who's grateful for a skin-care distributorship that's not only augmented her income, but has also brought her to a very positive place of self-discovery and self-confidence!

By stepping out of your comfort zone, you'll set a positive path of growth for yourself that will show up in new opportunities, new ideas, new friends, new connections and new skills.

You're frustrated and no one will help you.  Try posting questions as a newbie on some of the message boards and see what kind of replies you'll get. If you think about it, why would someone want to train their competition?
